Bushmaster’s Bravo Zulu pistol series brings the company’s flagship AR pattern into a compact, ready-to-run package. For those familiar with the Bravo Zulu rifles, the pistols will feel familiar in all the right ways. You get forged receivers, a solid barrel, Bushmaster’s two-stage DM2S trigger, a free-float M-LOK handguard, and a tuned gas system for each caliber.
Two New AR Pistols Added to the Bravo Zulu Line
The lineup covers two popular options: 5.56 NATO/.223 Remington and 300 Blackout. Both are built around 11.5-inch, 4150 CMV barrels with a salt-bath nitride finish for enhanced durability. Twist rates are 1:7, so heavier bullets stabilize well. Both wear the Snake Charmer II muzzle brake to tame movement.

Receivers are the familiar 7075 forged combo, with the XM15-E2S marked lower and an A4 flat-top upper. Inside, the bolt is MPI tested, and the carrier is finished in nitride. Furniture is Magpul, and the trigger guard is an enhanced Magpul unit. Additionally, the rail is Bushmaster’s 10-inch BFI M-LOK, which gives you enough real estate for a light, pressure pad, and a hand stop without getting in the way. The pistols ship with an adjustable pistol stabilizing brace and a 30-round PMAG.
Carbine Length Gas Tube
Bushmaster didn’t copy and paste the gas system either. The 5.56 pistol features a carbine-length system, which enhances dwell time and reliability in that caliber. The 300 Blackout version is available in a pistol-length configuration. This makes sense, especially if you plan to shoot subsonic loads or use a suppressor. That attention to caliber-specific tuning separates a quick parts build from a factory pistol you can trust.
On the range, the parts mix pays off. The DM2S two-stage trigger breaks clean, which makes precise shots at distance feel easy despite the shorter barrel. The brake keeps the dot from jumping around, so you can drive the gun through fast strings. The balance is good, thanks to the 10-inch handguard and the 11.5-inch tube. It avoids the front-heavy feel that some short guns get with longer rails. If you run a white light and a compact optic, the pistol still handles like a carbine, you already know. The guns are light as well. The 5.56 version is listed at 5.9 pounds, while the 300 BLK weighs 6.1 pounds without a magazine. The overall length ranges from 28.5 to 31.25 inches, depending on the brace position.
