WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 22, 2025) – Today, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) issued the following statement:
The Firearms Policy Coalition applauds the U.S. House of Representatives for passing a landmark budget reconciliation package early this morning, which includes a long-overdue full removal of firearm suppressors from the National Firearms Act (NFA). This measure marks an historic victory for Second Amendment advocates who have fought tirelessly to remove these vital hearing protection tools from the outdated and tyrannical constraints of the NFA. We strongly urge the U.S. Senate to preserve this critical language as they take up the bill.
“We are encouraged by this positive action from House Republicans, which hopefully signals a strong willingness to take up meaningful and much-needed pro-Second Amendment efforts to eliminate unconstitutional barriers that prevent tens of millions of peaceable Americans from exercising their right to keep and bear arms. Chief among these is the need to pass strong carry legislation to protect gun owners as they exercise their right to bear arms across the country. The House must fix and pass H.R. 38, the ‘Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act,’ without delay,” said FPC President Brandon Combs.
