Details Matter

Hornady’s 6.5 PRC earned its reputation for flat flight, strong energy retention, and predictable wind behavior. Factory 143-grain ELD-X Precision Hunter loads are published at about 2,960 fps from a 24-inch test barrel. Thnumbers that translate to confident shot placement at extended distances. With the SAWTOOTH’s 22-inch barrel, shooters can expect slightly lower muzzle speeds than 24-inch data, but the cartridge’s long-range manners remain a key draw.

The SAWTOOTH’s PROOF carbon barrel keeps weight down without giving up stiffness or heat management. SIG pairs it with their stainless heavy-profile radial brake, which the company notes can cut felt recoil significantly, helping you spot impacts and run the bolt without breaking position. A two-stage adjustable match trigger (2.5–4 lb) supports clean breaks when you’re shooting from awkward natural rests.

The folding precision-adjustable stock lets you tune comb height and length of pull, then lock it down for repeatability. Folded, the rifle shrinks to 33 inches—easy to lash to a pack or slide into a short case. The overall length with the pad extended is 43.8 inches. The rifle uses AICS-pattern magazines and ships with a 4-round steel MDT mag.

Lightweight Hitter

Up front, the free-floating alloy forend is lightened and cut for both M-LOK and ARCA. That dual-standard approach means you can clip directly to a tripod or ARCA-equipped bipod for rock-solid improvised positions, or run lightweight M-LOK accessories without extra adapters. The action and handguard have SIG’s Moss Cerakote for a subdued finish.

SIG builds the 6.5 PRC SAWTOOTH with a 1:8 twist. This is ideal for stabilizing modern high-BC 140–147-grain bullets. Muzzle threads are the standard 5/8×24 with a 90-degree shoulder, opening the door to brakes, suppressors, and tuners without gunsmithing. Up top, the integral 20-MOA Picatinny rail gives you extra elevation for dialing past mid-range while keeping your scope toward the middle of its internal travel.
