Mamdani and his wife have received fashion tips from Bailey Moon, who has styled people like Jill Biden, Tim Walz, and Pamela Anderson
Bespoke Bolshevism.
New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani (D.) has presented himself as a voice for the working class, but a new report states that he has worked with an A-list stylist who has managed the images of Democratic elites and celebrities.
Mamdani and his wife, Rama Duwaji, have received advice from stylist Bailey Moon, Puck reported Thursday. Moon is perhaps best known for his work as a “wardrobe adviser” to former president Joe Biden and former first lady Jill Biden, a task that the stylist called “the honor of a lifetime.”
He also styled former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin for her wedding to left-wing billionaire heir Alex Soros, whose progressive empire pumped tens of millions of dollars into groups backing Mamdani’s candidacy.
Moon has worked with less sartorially inclined Democrats before, including Minnesota governor Tim Walz during Walz’s time as former vice president Kamala Harris’s 2024 running mate. Other celebrity clients Moon has styled include Pamela Anderson, Diane Lane, Rebecca Hall, Morgan Spector, and Zachary Quinto.
News of Mamdani’s consultations with a stylist comes just two days after a speech in which the future mayor credited working-class New Yorkers with his win. Exit polls, on the other hand, show that it was the city’s most educated elite who lifted Mamdani to victory and that those without bachelor’s or advanced degrees preferred former governor Andrew Cuomo (D).
Moon, for his part, told the New York Post on Thursday that Mamdani did not pay him for his advice.
The stylist has worked with a wide variety of clients but has said there is one category of person he will not assist.
“I would not work with the Trump administration,” he told Vogue in January. “The values do have to be there, and I don’t align with Republican values.”
