Gloves can go one of two ways: either highly useful or a hindrance when they impede your task at hand. I would soon find out which category NexTorch’s Ultra-Thin Gloves would fall into with my detailed testing. These gloves boast precision, dexterity, and all-weather performance. This triple threat, if a reality, would truly make them my go-to gloves for just about anything. Did they meet and even exceed expectations? The hands-on answer is gripping, to say the least.
Ultra-Thin Gloves from NexTorch
Pre-Wear Examination
The fact that these gloves are titled “Ultra-Thin” intrigued me. Out of the packaging, I immediately realized that the description was entirely true. Unlike fluffy or padded gloves I’ve used in the past, these were much different. The reinforced fabric only added a thin layer of material while maintaining its structure and shape.
On the palm side of the gloves was a noticeable texture, running from the fingertips to just above the wrist. Even prior to trying on the gloves, the separation of fabric at the knuckle joints indicated to me that ease of finger movement wouldn’t be a problem.

Fits…Like a Glove
My hand is large, but thin, and I sometimes have trouble finding a good-fitting glove. They either don’t provide proper finger length, or if they do, they have too much room in the finger slots for good functionality.

These gloves fit with absolute perfection. They fit like a second skin on my hand without feeling constricted. The hook and loop strap at the wrist allowed me to adjust the tightness to my liking. My fingers and thumb had the needed room to feel comfortable yet were tight enough not to feel bulky. Segmentation at the finger joints allowed me to bend my fingers (even into a fist) without stopping short or bunching up the fabric.
These Ultra-Thin Gloves were just that, and felt fantastic on both of my hands.

Movement and Functionality
There were three specific tests I wanted to perform with these gloves. First, the ten-finger touchscreen technology. No one wants to take their gloves off to use their cellphone, and as I found out with these gloves, you don’t have to. My cellphone screen was receptive to all fingers that I used on it, including both thumbs. There was no lag or multiple pressing needed.
Second was the glove’s gripping ability. I grasped a knife, outdoor equipment, and a backpack, and all exhibited the same result. The gloves had a solid hold. What was in my hand stayed there.

Finally, I examined the glove’s subtle terrycloth thumb panel. This discreet piece of fabric did indeed efficiently wipe smudges from my glasses and condensation on my phone’s glass screen. This is a blink-and-you-miss-it feature, and one I really liked a lot.

Situations for Use
Though the gloves are aimed for use in an urban environment, in my opinion, they can serve multiple purposes. Naturally, they are perfect for a day of shooting at the range or handling heavy gear or equipment. I could see them being worn when using tools, like hammers, axes, pry bars, and the like. Their streamlined design and thin fabric would protect, while not impeding your grip or connection with the tool.
In a pinch, they could protect your hands at the gym while lifting weights. I would definitely include them in my survival to-go bag and also keep a pair around the house for odd jobs that seemingly always come up.

Overall Thoughts
There’s rarely a time when it’s difficult to find one “con” with tested gear, but this may be one of those times. Though ultra-thin as described, these gloves offer many subtle features that a wearer might miss if they don’t look them over carefully.
The gloves cost a very reasonable $44.99 and come in sizes ranging from small to triple extra-large. These gloves by NexTorch are a definite win in my book. Do yourself and your hands a favor and grab a few pairs. Even after your tasks are done, you may find yourself wearing them for no apparent reason because they are just that cool.
