French trans basketball player Julie Tetart’s childhood dream to play in the WNBA is one more step to becoming a reality.
On Wednesday, during an appearance on “Don’t @ Me” with Dan Dakich, OutKick founder Clay Travis announced that he will target Tetart, who was the scoring and rebounding leader in France’s Ligue 2 during the 2025-26 season, as the face of his potential WNBA franchise that he’d call the Nashville Balls.
“If the WNBA is inclusive, then this French all-star, a WNBA team has to sign [Tetart],” Travis told Dakich.

On Monday, the 6’3 and shredded Tetart told OutKick, “If they contact me, I won’t say no. But you have to be realistic: I’m old, and there are far better players than me!”
Travis doesn’t care how old Tetart is. He can see talent. He can see determination. His vision is of a basketball player who is hungry to lead a fledgling WNBA franchise. Tetart called playing in the WNBA a “childhood dream” while trading Instagram DMs with OutKick.
“I put in a franchise application, Dan. The Nashville Balls would be the greatest dynasty of all time. Most inclusive, too. We’re only signing men who identify as women,” Clay continued. “Our slogan is ‘One love, two balls.’ And we’re going to absolutely dominate the WNBA.”
How good will this team be with biological males leading the way? The multi-millionaire sports, politics, culture and radio voice says this team will be historic. “You thought back in the day that [John] Wooden had a dynasty at UCLA. You thought that back in the day that Bill Russell and the Celtics were something to behold. You ain’t seen nothin’ until you’ve seen what the Nashville Balls will do in the WNBA,” Clay added.

This vision of an all-trans team isn’t as far-fetched as some might think. France’s Ligue 2 (LF2) is home to not only Tetart, but also to a trans player named Aurore Pautou, 43, who is regularly among the league leaders in points and rebounds. Pautou had no history of high-level basketball before joining LF2. Suddenly, at 40-plus, everything clicked and now Pautou is one of the league’s best players.
