A woman is suing the New York Yankees for $10 million after being hit in the head with an errant bat at a recent game.

Cleveland Guardians infielder Jose Ramirez lost control of his bat on June 2 in the Bronx and it went flying into the seats near the on-deck circle after a swing and miss against Cam Schlittler.

However, Stephanie Duluc, 37, claims that the protective netting by her seat was “significantly lower” than that in adjacent sections, which left an “unprotected opening.”

The bat hit her “with such force that it knocked her from her seat and violently threw her to the ground, causing her to sustain severe and permanent injuries.”

Duluc suffered a traumatic brain injury and concussion, as well as severe light sensitivity and permanent damage to her neck and hands, the suit claims, adding that she has been “unable to return to her professional duties.”

“Ms. Duluc continues to suffer significant residual deficits from her traumatic brain injury, including persistent headaches, sensitivity to light, balance issues, and other cognitive impairments,” her attorney said, via the New York Post.

The Yankees did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

Teams have often been protected by fine print on every ticket that states teams aren’t responsible for errant bats or balls, and just about every seat at Yankee Stadium has a sign warning fans to stay alert.

Protective netting in dangerous foul ball areas — down the base lines — became mandatory in all 30 MLB stadiums in 2018, months after a scary incident at the Bronx ballpark. The previous September, Todd Frazier smoked a foul ball at 105 mph that fractured a toddler’s skull.

Bats and balls have still found ways to sneak through because stadiums have different netting lengths and heights, but injuries like this one have certainly declined.

The Yankees are 4.5 games back of the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East amid numerous injuries, including a lengthy one to Aaron Judge, but still hold a comfortable margin to at least make the postseason.
