‘That’s not my opinion,’ Tiffany Cross said after arguing that ‘journalistic integrity’ requires her to call Trump adviser a racist
Tiffany Cross, the former MSNBC host turned CNN guest, said it’s an “actual fact” that top White House adviser Stephen Miller “is a white supremacist” and argued that “journalistic integrity” required her to call him one.
“Any time that we play something from Stephen Miller, it would be journalistic integrity to point out that he is a white supremacist,” Cross said Monday on CNN NewsNight. “That’s not my opinion. That’s actual fact.”
Cross’s comments were part of a panel discussion surrounding whether President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard had reduced crime in Washington, D.C. CNN NewsNight host Abby Phillip played a clip of Miller claiming residents in the nation’s capital had a renewed sense of safety.
“For the first time in their lives, they can use the parks, they can walk on the streets. You have people who can walk freely at night without having to worry about being robbed or mugged. They’re wearing their watches again. They’re wearing jewelry again. They’re wearing purses again,” Miller, a White House deputy chief of staff, said Monday.
The entire CNN panel immediately erupted in crosstalk. Cross eventually gained the floor, calling Miller the “brainchild” behind the National Guard deployment, making sure to first label him as a white supremacist.
“For him to purport lies from the Oval Office as a white supremacist, it should be pointed out,” she said.
During her two-year stint as the host of MSNBC’s The Cross Connection, Cross consistently used her platform to attack Republicans—until the network canceled the show and cut ties with her in 2022. Just before getting canned, Cross disparaged both the GOP and Florida during an appearance on Comedy Central’s Hell of a Week with Charlemagne.
“Florida literally looks like the dick of the country, so let’s get rid of Florida,” she said. “Let’s castrate Florida.”
She added that the Republican Party and “right-wing extremists” had become indistinguishable, adding that they had “merged right now.”
