Former Department of the Interior officials say Bergling made young male staff feel uncomfortable at work
Timothy Bergling frequently posts sexual comments on pornographic pictures of young male models on social media, where he posts under his own name. Bergling—a communications staffer tasked with producing video content in the Department of the Interior’s Office of the Secretary—often makes such lewd and inappropriate posts during work hours at his taxpayer-funded job.
Bergling has remained in the role for years through multiple administrations while engaging in such social media activity. His behavior frequently made his colleagues—particularly men, but also at least two women—feel uncomfortable, multiple former Department of the Interior officials who worked with him told the Washington Free Beacon. The officials were granted anonymity to speak freely.
“Aside from his generally poor work performance, his use of social media during work hours for inappropriate purposes is alarming,” said one of the former officials. “Bergling regularly made multiple young staffers uncomfortable in the office. Unfortunately, it appears there is a troubling pattern of misconduct among [Secretary of the Interior] Deb Haaland’s team. If personnel is policy, President Biden and Secretary Haaland need to reevaluate who’s staffing the Interior Department.”
“Tim Bergling perfectly encapsulates the rot that has festered among many federal government employees,” another former Interior official told the Free Beacon, adding that Haaland “continues to employ creepy staffers to do her bidding.”
Neither Bergling nor the Department of the Interior responded to requests for comment.
According to a Free Beacon review of Bergling’s X feed, Bergling regularly engages with explicit content. His activity seems to particularly target young men in their late teens and early 20s, sometimes even appearing to solicit nude photos from the men.
“Your body is a wonderland,” he commented at 9:41 a.m. on March 7, a weekday, beneath a post of a nearly nude male model.
“Lemme help,” he wrote on April 19, another weekday, at 3:02 p.m., in response to a man’s post stating he was “holding in this nut all day.”
“I didn’t know Greek statues could jizz,” Bergling wrote in another post on May 7, a Tuesday, at 3:52 p.m., responding to a picture of a man appearing to ejaculate.
And he added at noon on June 11, yet another workday, that a 21-year-old male model was “so freakin adorable.”
While not during work hours, in late December, Bergling responded, “You at any age :),” to a then-18-year-old male model who posted a since-deleted picture of himself wearing only underwear and grabbing his genitals.
Bergling also frequently posts vicious attacks against Republicans. For example, in posts during work hours, he called Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) an “irredeemable anal wart” and said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R., Ga.) is the “dumbest c*nt alive.”
Bergling also likened former president Donald Trump to the devil, said the former president is a “fascist,” called House Speaker Mike Johnson (R., La.) an “ass-clown,” said Republicans want to move toward authoritarianism, and said he hopes one-third of the nation die off quickly because they are “unlovably irredeemable.”
“Having been in [Trump’s] odious presence once,” Bergling added in a post during work hours in July 2023, “I can testify that every bizarre swirl of his pee-colored hair covers a large thinning bald spot, and that all the roots that remain are bright silver. He also stank of what smelled like Brut aftershave, cheap and cloying.”
The revelation that Bergling has so regularly engaged in such social media activity comes shortly after it was revealed the White House recently hired Tyler Cherry as an associate communications director. Cherry previously worked in the Interior Department’s communications department and has been heavily criticized for his anti-Israel and anti-police social media posts.
The Biden administration has also received criticism for appointing Sam Brinton to a senior position in the Department of Energy. Brinton, who made headlines in 2022 for being a “non-binary” federal official, later departed the agency after he was accused in multiple airport baggage thefts.
