It’s been kind of a nasty winter so far, at least locally. As I write this toward the end of December 2025, we’ve already had more snow this winter than we did all of the previous winter. We’ve also had multiple days of frigid wind chills, with many days going well into negative double digits. So, when LiteFighter Gear approached me about reviewing one of their Hand Haven hand warmers, I couldn’t say no.

Who is LiteFighter Gear?
I’d heard of LiteFighter Gear before, but I wasn’t all that familiar with them. Doing a little digging, I learned that they were originally known as LiteFighter Systems. They originally concentrated on advanced shelter systems for the U.S. military. Over the years, they’ve expanded into other products like packs.

Hand Haven Overview
The most recent time I can remember seeing a hand warmer like this is watching NFL games being played in cold climates. This sort of tube-style warmer is similar to what you’ll see quarterbacks using.
The Hand Haven has an outer shell made of 500D Cordura. The inner liner is a very soft polyester Polartec material. Providing the insulation is 100% polyester TrapMax. All told, the Hand Haven weighs 8.9 ounces. It measures about 15 inches from end to end and roughly 5 inches from side to side. It’s available in OCP Camo, Alpine Camo, and Coyote Tan (shown).

On the front, there’s a zippered pouch. It’s intended for use with pouch hand warmers or electronic heaters, but you can also use it for keys, a pocket knife, or other small bits and baubles. There are four 1/8-inch loops that you can use for carabiners, so you can hang a hat or gloves.

The Hand Haven has an adjustable 1.5-inch belt. Slide the buckle until you have the right length, then strap it on and away you go.
Hand Haven Performance
My wife and I went out for a hike today. It was about 24°F with a wind chill of 12°F. Sunny, but breezy and cold. When we got out of the van, I put on the Hand Haven, and we hit the trail. I didn’t bother with a hand warmer of any kind for the front pouch. The belt adjusted very quickly and easily.

In cold weather, I often walk/hike with my hands in my coat pockets unless I’m navigating rough terrain. So, walking with my hands in the Hand Haven didn’t feel awkward. However, I recommend adjusting the belt so the tube sits about even with your waist. Otherwise, you might feel like you’re hunching over all the time.
The inner lining is incredibly soft and feels great. I have large hands, and there were no issues with them feeling cramped inside the Hand Haven. There’s plenty of wiggle room. It did great with keeping my hands toasty warm, and I have little doubt it would do the job in even colder conditions.

It’s comfortable and easy to use. All of the seams are stitched tight, with no loose threads or other signs of poor quality. All in all, I’m quite pleased with it.
Who Needs a Hand Haven?
The Hand Haven would be great for hunters who might be sitting in a blind for hours on end. It’ll keep hands warm and flexible, ready for action when their prey is in sight. If you hike in cold weather, you’ll appreciate it as well. As a parent of three boys, I can’t tell you how much I’d have loved to have a Hand Haven when they were in school and playing sports in the fall and winter.
