President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened Hamas with military intervention if the terror group refuses to stop executing people in Gaza, calling the killings a breach of his peace deal.
“If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the Deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. The warning comes as Hamas terrorists—seeking to retain power with a ceasefire in effect—have stormed through the streets of Gaza executing Palestinians who they claim collaborated with Israel. The terror group has killed at least 33 people since the ceasefire took effect last week, according to Reuters.
Video footage shows masked Hamas gunmen lining up bound men in the streets and executing them before cheering mobs. The gunmen are reportedly affiliated with Hamas’s internal security force, known for terrorizing Gazan civilians, while the victims are believed to be members of a Palestinian faction that has openly clashed with the terror group in recent days.
“The terror group’s rampage suggests it is trying to preserve its rule over Gaza, rejecting the Trump agreement’s requirement that Hamas disarm and stand down,” the Washington Free Beacon reported Monday.
Trump’s Thursday post is not the first time that he has threatened to disarm Hamas by force. In remarks at the White House on Tuesday, Trump made clear that Hamas “will disarm, or we will disarm them,” saying that forced disarmament will “happen quickly, and perhaps violently.”

Hamas has also failed to make good on its promise to release all hostages as part of Trump’s peace deal, with multiple bodies still not returned to Israel. The terror group’s hold-up has drawn an angry response from Trump, who wrote on Tuesday that “the job is NOT DONE. THE DEAD HAVE NOT BEEN RETURNED, AS PROMISED.”
“With the ceasefire in effect, Hamas is severely weakened,” Foundation for Defense of Democracies research analyst Joe Truzman told the Free Beacon. “It must assert power by targeting its rivals and those who have allegedly gone against the so-called ‘resistance’ during the war.”
“Hamas intends to stay the dominant power in Gaza,” Truzman went on. “It is doing this by exacting violence on the population.”
