Grips are a very personal thing on a firearm. While you can certainly adapt to most grips that come on guns, why should we? There’s a thriving aftermarket on grips of all shapes and sizes for any number of firearms. Still, even those just give you one more grip option.

The Nitty Gritty
First, let me start by saying that the ATG grip is designed for the AR platform. With that said, we all know that all sorts of firearms these days utilize the AR pattern grip, so that opens it up to be used on just about anything. Semi-auto rifles and PCCs of all stripes, shotguns, and even bolt-action chassis.
As the name implies, the ATG 2.0 is the successor to the original ATG grip. It’s still pretty new. So new that I don’t even see it on XTech’s website at the moment.

ATG stands for Adjustable Tactical Grip. It’s a two-part grip that allows the “handle” portion of the grip to pivot to three different angles: 17, 25, & 33 degrees. The grip is simple to adjust with the included hex key.
Made from a rugged polymer, the ATG has subtle finger grooves with texture, as well as a grooved textured back strap. This innovative AR-15 grip is designed and manufactured in Arizona. While not currently listed, the original ATG grips sell for $19.95, so I’d expect the 2.0s to be somewhere in that ballpark.

As best I can tell, the difference between the ATG and the ATG 2.0 appears to be in the texture and back strap grooves.
Installation and Use
Installation of the ATG grip is similar to a regular AR grip. It uses one hex screw that secures with the included hex wrench. Where it differs is that you can rotate the grip and lock it in at any of the three provided angles. 17 degrees is nearly vertical, and is a good fit for PDWs and shorter stocks in general.

The 25-degree setting has a slight rake to it, similar to a GI pistol grip. It’s a good all-around setting and the one I settled on for my 9mm PCC.

The 35-degree angle is the most severe rake to it, and I feel like it would be a good choice for bench shooting and scoped rifle use. It lets you get a little lower over a sandbag or when shooting prone.
3 in 1 Adaptability
The ATG is a comfortable grip regardless of angle. The shape and texture are well designed. They provide enough surface and aggressiveness to give a positive hold, but not so much to be awkward or rough to handle.

Pricing of the various grips available from XTech Tactical is all very reasonable and competitive with other grips on the market. With the 3 in 1 angle options on the ATG 2.0, you get more value for your money than the single-angle options, too.
