Assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the youngest, most influential political advisers in the country
You only turn 20 once. For Barron Trump, that day (March 20) is today. According to a Washington Free Beacon analysis, it is not unreasonable to assume that Donald and Melania Trump conceived their only child to the sound of “Hips Don’t Lie” by Shakira. The smash hit spent two weeks atop the Billboard chart approximately nine months prior to Barron’s birth. Do with that what you will.
Though technically an adult, it’s important to remember that Barron is very young. He’s a college sophomore who still can’t buy alcohol in the United States. He is the same age as Rama Duwaji, wife of New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani, when she posted a fawning tribute to Palestinian terrorist Leila Khaled.
Duwaji’s defenders have argued that it’s unfair to criticize a politician’s wife (and unofficial senior adviser) for glorifying a terrorist at such a young age. Indeed, in recent years, Duwaji, 28, has found more discrete and sophisticated ways to condone terrorism. In addition to “liking” a series of Instagram posts celebrating the Oct. 7 massacre by Hamas, she recently contributed an illustration to an essay collection compiled by Susan Abulhawa, a radical Palestinian activist who just this week said that Israel was “the greatest threat to humanity” and “must be wiped off the map.”
