The WNBA, which continues to struggle to turn a profit, has received a very generous offer to live up to the league’s stated political views and ideology.
When Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham publicly stated that she believed women’s sports should be for women, and not for biological males, it set off a firestorm of hatred, anger, and public rebukes from much of the league. Several coaches spoke out against her, while her own head coach pretended as though she doesn’t understand the biological differences between males and females.
Players wore shirts with obvious, pointed critiques of Cunningham’s statement, which were then celebrated by their team’s social media accounts. She’s been booed as a visiting player, elbowed in the face then called for a foul herself, all while some fans have been allowed to bring in signs expressing hatred towards her. With virtually no other players or coaches issuing statements of support for Cunningham, and instead near universal criticism and reality denial, OutKick founder Clay Travis has a compelling offer for the league’s best team: live up to what you believe in.

Ten million dollars, by the way, represents nearly a third of the Aces estimated total annual revenue of $33 million. And all they have to do is play a high school boy’s state title team and beat them. Shouldn’t be hard, right? After all, there’s no difference between males and females, right? Fever head coach Stephanie White said she grew up playing with the boys, right?

“I don’t know that I would say I’m educated enough from a scientific standpoint,” White said when asked about males competing in women’s sports. “I don’t ever believe that exclusion is the answer. I just don’t. I do think that when we think about various levels of sport, various governing bodies of sport, and things that go into that, like I said, I’m not educated enough at the different levels. I know growing up I played with the boys all the time.”
Perfect! Let the boys play. Don’t be exclusionary, be inclusive! Let teenage boys play against grown women, see how it goes, and then maybe White and her political partners will be educated about the realities of biology. And if it goes their way, the Aces get a 30% increase in their revenue this year. Where’s the downside?
Obviously, the Aces will not respond. Any WNBA team will not respond. The league will not respond. Because they know their answer, but their dedication to left-wing politics demands they pretend otherwise. They are so committed to the Democratic Party, the “party of science,” they have to pretend science doesn’t exist. That’s what Travis is exposing, which is precisely why they hate him, and reality, so much.
